The survey, which was carried out by research firm YouGov on behalf of Activision Blizzard, also asked players about their opinion about Game Pass and "Metaverse gaming experiences."

However, shortly after the news about NFTs broke, Blizzard President Mike Ybarra rushed to calm down gamers, saying that "no one is doing NFTs." Later, a spokesperson for Blizzard reached out to Kotaku to clarify the situation:

"The company conducts surveys regularly on a wide range of emerging topics to better learn about the interests of our players, regardless of our involvement in such trends."

It's worth noting that Blizzard's statements do not highly correlate with Microsoft's ones after the tech giant purchased the gaming company for $68.7 billion. Microsoft particularly said the deal will provide "building blocks for the metaverse." Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella went further and added that gaming will play a "key role in the development of metaverse platforms."
