MetaMask, a cryptocurrency wallet for the Ethereum ecosystem, is warning users about new iCloud phishing scams. The company said in a series of tweets that if a user enables iCloud backup for app data, this means that password-encrypted MetaMask vault will also be stored on Apple's servers.

"If your password isn't strong enough, and someone phishes your iCloud credentials, this can mean stolen funds," the company said.
The company added that users can disable iCloud backups for MetaMask specifically by turning off the toggle in Settings > Profile > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups. The move comes after a victim named "Domenic Iacovone" said to have lost NFTs and crypto estimated at $655,000 after someone took over their iCloud account.
The victim said they got a phone call from Apple "literally from apple (on my caller Id)." Later, the victim called it back and they asked for a code that was sent to a phone and two seconds later the victim's "entire MetaMask was wiped." Earlier, iHodl reported that Sotheby’s is planning to host a new auction featuring generative art in the form of non-fungible tokens. The upcoming auction — which is set to occur between April 18-24 — will include artworks covering the broad history of generative art, starting in the 1960s through present day.
