Hyundai is entering the NFT market by collaborating with Meta Kongz, an NFT project of 10,000 randomly created 3D gorilla illustrations. As part of the Hyundai Metamobility universe, the Korean car manufacturer will drop its own limited collection of 30 unique NFTs, featuring gorillas and Hyundai's electric 1975 PONY model.

"PONY and Meta Kongz are opening the door to a new world that transcends time and space. Meta Kongz has paved the way for PONY to swiftly depart on an exciting adventure to the new world," the company said in an announcement.
The Hyundai x Meta Kongz collection is set to be available for purchase on April 20. Later in May, Hyundai also plans to issue additional NFTs as innovative mobility vehicles to guide users through the universe. Thomas Schemera, Hyundai Motor’s Global CMO, said that the universe will extend the Hyundai brand experience in a completely new way, further reinforcing its commitment to "innovation in both the real world and in the metaverse."
In January, Hyundai announced plans to bring Boston Dynamics' robots in a virtual reality metaverse. While many details are yet to be disclosed, the corporation reportedly wants to use hardware as a kind of real-world proxy for VR interactions.
