Ethereum's Co-Founder, Vitalik Buterin, has made a donation of 1,500 ETH (~$5 million) to Ukraine and Unchain Fund, a charity project created by blockchain activists to support Ukraine with humanitarian aid. The fund said in a tweet that Buterin made two transactions: one in 750 ETH directly to Ukraine's crypto wallet and the other — with the same amount — to Unchain's address.

Buterin was one of the first well-known crypto figures who spoke out about a geopolitical disaster that sparked between Russia in Ukraine, condemning it as a "crime against the Ukrainian and Russian people." He particularly wrote in a tweet shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine that he was "very upset" about "Putin's decision to abandon the possibility of a peaceful solution to the dispute with Ukraine." According to reports, Ukraine received over $150 million in crypto as the of end of March.

Ukraine Could Be Included in the European Blockchain Partnership

Earlier in March, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law "On Virtual Assets" giving the local cryptocurrency market green light. The law describes that the National Bank of Ukraine and the country's National Commission on Securities and Stock Market will act as market's regulatory bodies.
