OpenSea Adds Support for Fiat Purchase of NFTs

OpenSea, a marketplace for non-fungible tokens (NFT), now allows users to purchase NFTs with the help of a debit or credit card. The move is part of a partnership with MoonPay, a crypto payments service.

According to a blog post, the deal allows OpenSea's clients to buy NFTs with Apple Pay, Google Pay, MasterCard or Visa. MoonPay's co-founder and CEO, Ivan Soto-Wright, said:

"To be successful, we have to make the process as simple as possible. MoonPay has done that for crypto. And now, in partnership with OpenSea, we are doing it for NFTs as well."

In February, OpenSea entered into a partnership with Metalink, an NFT-focused platform for chatting, to enhance its client support. The company said that with the deal it expects to get secure channels of communication to NFT communities. The price of the deal remains undisclosed.
