Hacker Claims to Own $7 Billion in Bitcoin

The hacker known as Gummo could rank 369th on the Forbes billionaires list with the Bitcoins he owns alone.

The hacker, who is known under the pseudonym Gummo, has said during a recent interview with YouTube channel Soft White Underbelly that he owns more than $7 billion in Bitcoins.

If we take this figure into account, the hacker would rank 369th on Forbes' list of billionaires by 2021. He has said:

"I am quite rich. Yeah, I don’t have to work if I don’t choose to. I have over seven billion dollars worth of Bitcoin."

Over the past year hackers stole about $14 billion.

Losses from crimes related to digital currencies have registered a 79% increase compared to 2020.

Fraud accounted for the largest number of crimes in the field of cryptos, followed by theft, most of which are the result of hacks to blockchain projects.
