Popular video streaming service Netflix has suspended its operations in Russia in protest of Russian military operations in Ukraine, Variety has reported.
Notably, the service had previously halted all of its projects in Russia. Netflix had four Russian products in production, including a filmed police thriller directed by Dasha Zhuk.

Netflix has also refused to stream 20 Russian propaganda channels, which it was supposed to stream according to Russian law.
Netflix has been operating in Russia since 2016 and has around 1 million subscribers. Globally, Netflix has 222 million users. The company reported:
"Given the circumstances on the ground, we have decided to suspend our service in Russia."
Netflix was working in Russia through a joint venture with the local holding company National Media Group.
