Ethereum's testnet now supports zkSync 2.0, a zero knowledge (ZK) rollup that solves the needs of most applications on the Ethereum blockchain. The Matter Labs team wrote in an announcement that the system allows developers to build and deploy decentralized applications in a low-fee, highly scalable layer-2 environment in Solidity.

  • OKEx.
Developer of zkSync Scaling Protocol Raises $50M in Round Led by a16z

Matter Labs says the current version of the zkSync 2.0 provides developers with a design space to "experiment with applications not possible on Ethereum today."

The launch follows a recent $450 million funding round in Polygon, an eponymous firm behind a scaling solution for the Ethereum network. The firm said it will use the proceeds to continue investing in ZK technology that is expected to be "key to onboarding the next billion users to Web3." As part of that mission, the team has already committed $1 billion to ZK-related efforts.
