Line received approval from Financial Services Agency (FSA) to operate as a cryptocurrency exchange in 2019. As part of an agreement, the BitMAX trading platform allowed 80 million Line users in Japan to buy and sell cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, ether, bitcoin cash (BCH), litecoin (LTC) and others.
