Nintendo, a multinational developer of video game series like Pokémon Legends and The Legend of Zelda, is looking at the metaverse space as the technology has "great potential," the company's top managers said during a recent earnings call.

According to a transcript published on Twitter by Senior Analyst at MST Financial, David Gibson, the Japanese company is yet to define what joy the metaverse can bring to the gaming area that sufficiently appeal to users. Nintendo did not specify on the timing, but agreed that the metaverse can works with many of the company's games, including Animal Crossing.
Earlier in January, Apple CEO, Tim Cook, also said the Cupertino-based company is interested the metaverse and is already "investing accordingly." The Apple CEO did not clarify though what projects the company is backing. However, Cook noted the company is focused on the intersection between software, hardware and services.
