Reddit is working on a new feature that might allow users to show off their non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on their picture profile. A spokesperson for Reddit Tim Rathschmidt told TechCrunch the company has not made any final decision yet as the initiative is a "small, internal test." Rathschmidt added:

"We are always exploring ways to provide value for users and communities on Reddit. At the moment we are testing the ability to use NFTs as profile pictures (avatars) and verify ownership."

Reddit did not elaborate on what blockchains would be supported if were to launch its NFT avatars, or if the company plans to use a single API for verification like Twitter does. The move comes after Twitter Blue Labs, a premium subscription service, launched early access to NFT profile pictures for users with iOS devices. Selected users can link their Ethereum wallets to Twitter accounts to verify NFTs as profile avatars.

For verification purposes Twitter relies on NFT marketplace OpenSea via API. The social network also supports MetaMask, Ledger Live, Rainbow, Argent and, Coinbase Wallet, and others.
