Scammers Use MicroStrategy CEO's Name to Steal $1.1M in BTC

An unknown investor has lost 26 Bitcoins (about $1.1 million at the time of the transaction) by sending them to scammers promising to double his investments, Whale Alert has reported.

The attackers have used Michael Saylor's name to lure investors.

Saylor himself has said that last week, scammers launched 489 similar projects on YouTube. According to the CEO of MicroStrategy, his team regularly monitors such projects and reports them to the YouTube administration, after which the fraudulent videos are removed.

MicroStrategy is the public company that owns the most Bitcoins. As of January 17, the company holds more than 124,000 BTC, valued at $5.2 billion.
