Russian authorities have arrested members of the REvil ransomware gang, according to a press release from Russian intelligence agency FSB. The law enforcement officials claim that the agency has seized $5.6 million in Russian rubles (including ~$90,000 in crypto from the Blockchain.com wallet), $600,000 in US dollars, and €500,000. The regulator also seized 20 premium cars purchased with money obtained from crime.

While the US had offered a reward of up to $10 mullion for information leading to the gang members, it seems that Russia will not extradite the detainees. According to Russian news outlet Interfax's sources close to the matter, Russia will not extradite to the US those members of the REvil hacker group who have Russian citizenship.
In December 2021, the FBI seized approximately $2.3 million worth of cryptocurrencies related to REvil. Particularly, the watchdog seized 39.89138522 BTC from the Exodus cryptocurrency wallet. However, it is still unclear how the FBI gained access to the funds.
