Swipe CEO to Step Down as Binance Acquires 100% Stake

Swipe CEO, Joselito Lizarondo, will leave the Visa crypto card provider once Binance will finalize the acquisition of the remaining outstanding shares of the company, according to a blog announcement. It remains unclear when the exchange plans to acquire all the 100% shares of the company.

Binance first announced partnership with Swipe in July 2020. As part of the partnership, the exchange issued its own crypto debit card. However, the price of the deal remains undisclosed.

Previously, Binance received in-principle approval as a cryptocurrency service provider from the Central Bank of Bahrain. The approval allows Binance to offer services as a crypto-asset service provider.
