MicroStrategy Purchases Additional 1,914 BTC for $94.2M

The largest publicly-traded bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin) hodler, MicroStrategy Inc., continues its cryptocurrency expansion with an additional $94.2 million investment in bitcoin. According to a regulatory filing, with the last purchase of 1,914 bitcoins at an average price of $49,229 per BTC, the company hodls a total sum of 124,391 BTC (~$5.9 billion as of press time).

This is the second large purchase of the cryptocurrency by the Virginia-based company this month. Earlier in December, MicroStrategy also bought 1,434 BTC for $82.4 million.

In the meantime, MicroStrategy CEO, Michael Saylor, hinted that the company is trying to figure out how it can generate yield on its bitcoin holdings. He said the company has already discussed the plan on the company's investor day call with shareholders.
