The government of El Salvador has just purchased 21 BTC in honor of December 21, 2021, the country's president Nayib Bukele has announced.
According to him, the country has made an additional Bitcoin purchase to celebrate "the last 21 days of the 21st year of the 21st century."
Bukele has added he held the purchase until 21:21:21.

The amount of the transaction was $1,034,416.68.
The president has also emphasized that the area of El Salvador is 21,000 km2, referring to the limitation of the issuance of the crypto of 21 million coins. He has added:
"Coincidence? I don't think so."
After the legalization of Bitcoin back in September, the country's government bought 550 BTC through a fund created especially for this purpose. Later, it bought another 150 BTC when the price of Bitcoin fell to $45,000.
The country's authorities increased Bitcoin reserves in October by buying another 420 BTC, once again taking advantage of the cryptocurrency's fall. In November, the state fund bought another 100 BTC.
