Circle, a company behind the USDC stablecoin, will add support for USDC on Avalanche. According to an announcement, support for USDC will be available on Avalanche's C-Chain, the default smart contract blockchain for the creation of Ethereum-compatible applications and assets with lower fees and faster transactions.

With the integration, users will get a tool to pay for developers and participants in Avalanche's exponentially growing ecosystem of DeFi protocols, enterprise applications, NFT marketplaces, and more. Developers can also take advantage of Circle's suite of APIs, which have been updated to support USDC on Avalanche, the announcement says.

The announcement comes after the Avalanche Foundation launched the Blizzard $200 million fund. The fund is dedicated to accelerating development, growth, and innovation of the Avalanche ecosystem. The foundation said that Ava Labs, Polychain Capital, Three Arrows Capital, Dragonfly Capital and other participated in the funding.
