Vulcan Forged, a game studio dedicated to NFT games built on Ethereum and Polygon, has suffered a hacker attack resulting in approximately $100 million losses in the PYR token. According to a tweet, 148 wallets hodling PYR have been compromised. The total sum of stolen tokens succeeds 4.5 million PYR, a spokesperson for Vulcan Forged wrote. It remains unclear though, how exactly a bad actor managed to hack such a big group of wallets.

A few hours after the attack, the Vulcan Forged team said that the affected wallets were actually 98, not 148. The team also added that half of the funds had been returned to affected users. Prior to this announcement, the spokesperson noted that the team contacted all exchanges to blacklist an address associated with the hacker. It has also been reported that the hacker could have verified his or her wallet on a centralized exchange.
Previously, iHodl reported that hackers attacked the BadgerDAO project, which is focused on Bitcoin owners. As a result, the users of the platform lost about $100 million. Later, it turned out that Celsius Network, a cryptocurrency earning and borrowing platform, was one of the main victims of the BadgerDAO hack.
