Yesterday, December 9, the Solana network allegedly suffered a DDoS attack, as reported by users. However, the Solana Foundation behind the project has not publicly acknowledged the attack.

Users have referred to a subsequently deleted tweet from the Blockasset NFT platform, which distributed the native BLOCK token:

"We are aware that tokens take a long time to distribute. The Solana chain is being overloaded with DDoS attacks that have clogged the network causing delays."

Infrastructure company GenesysGo, which specializes in Solana, has also reported delays in processing transactions on the project's blockchain, however, it has attributed them to "increasing pain" and called for calm.

Verbit CEO Roy Murphy has announced the global outage of Solana, however, according to the data, the network has not stopped working at any time. He has added:

"Solana is down again and is currently offline."

The price of the Solana (SOL) token has fallen 3.84% over the past 24 hours after the news broke.
