US movie theater chain Regal Cinema will begin accepting cryptocurrencies as a means of payment in 42 states.

To do so, the company has teamed up with payments app Flexa.

Customers at Regal Cinema's 514 theaters will be able to purchase tickets, popcorn and snacks using Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin, Dogecoin, USDC, GUSD, DAI, Cosmos, Basic Attention Token and other cryptos.

Regal Cinema's marketing director, Ken Tevez, has said the chain aims to become "the best place to watch a movie." According to him, movie-goers have requested that the chain add support for cryptocurrencies. Tevez has added:

"We are grateful to have found a partner in Flexa, a company that is revolutionizing digital payments with cutting-edge software and an innovative business platform."

AMC Entertainment, the largest movie theater chain in the US, has previously added support for Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash.
