Earlier this week, Discord teased a new feature that would allow users to link their accounts with a cryptocurrency wallet called MetaMask. According to a tweet published by Discord's founder, Jason Citron, the company was also exploring linking wallets via WalletConnect, a web3 service that connects various blockchain networks.

However, the Reddit thread titled "Discord developers: please do not support NFTs," which got 7,000 upvotes, pointed out that most non-fungible tokens (NFTs) appear to have "little value and exist only to speculate on."
