Tesla CEO Elon Musk has said on Twitter he is ready to sell $6 billion in company stocks to fight world hunger. However, he first wants to understand how this money will solve the problem.

Musk has thus reacted to the statement of UN World Food Program (WFP) director David Beasley, who wrote only 2% of Musk's fortune could solve the problem of world hunger. Musk responded:

"If WFP can describe on this Twitter thread exactly how $6B will solve world hunger, I will sell Tesla stock right now and do it."

Musk has clarified "it must be open source accounting, so the public sees precisely how the money is spent."

David Beasley has previously asked Musk and Jeff Bezos to donate $6 billion. According to him, this step could save the lives of some 42 million people.
