Bitpanda Pro, an advanced version of the Bitpanda cryptocurrency exchange, has appointed Joshua Barraclough as its new Chief Executive. According to a press release seen by iHodl, Barraclough will oversee all operations geared towards experienced traders as well as professionals and institutions. Prior to joining Bitpanda, Barraclough worked at at JPMorgan in the position of Co-Head of Digital Innovation.

"This space is complex, and while there are a fierce number of companies out there trying to win, very few have the right tech, expertise and culture to make this happen," Barraclough said.

Bitpanda Launches Remote Blockchain Hub

The appointment comes just a few months after Bitpanda raised $263 million in a Series C round led by Peter Thiel's Valar Ventures. The Vienna-based cryptocurrency exchange also raised capital from Alan Howard, REDO Ventures, LeadBlock Partners and Jump Capital. The latest funding round brought Bitpanda's valuation at the $4.1 billion mark. Bitpanda plans to use the funding for international expansion and growth.
