The waitlist for Robinhood's cryptocurrency wallet now counts over one million subscribers, CNBC has learned, citing the company's CEO Vlad Tenev. He says the cryptocurrency wallet has "certain advantages" that make it kind of global and accessible by default.

"Crypto is certainly here to stay as an asset class and the ease of use and the global nature of it, I think, has made it attractive to lots of people," Tenev said.
The cryptocurrency wallet will reportedly allow users not only sending and receiving cryptocurrencies, but also transferring them to hardware storages. The full launch is expected in early 2022. As iHodl earlier reported, Robinhood started testing the wallet with select users this month. According to the Menlo Park-based brokerage, the wallet supports ID verification, multi-factor authentication, and email/phone verification.
