The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has delayed its verdict on four bitcoin-ETF applications at least until November this year. The SEC has set a new deadline for Global X Bitcoin Trust (November 21), Valkyrie XBTO Bitcoin Futures Fund (December 8), WisdomTree Bitcoin Trust (December 11), and Kryptoin Bitcoin ETF Trust (December 24).

SEC Names Vocal DeFi Critic as General Counsel

In all notices the watchdog claims it is needed a "longer period within which to take action on the proposed rule change so that it has sufficient time to consider the proposed rule change and any comments." In the meantime, Evolve Funds Group, an asset manager, received approval from Canadian regulators to launch the Evolve Cryptocurrencies ETF based on bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin), ether (ETH) and other cryptocurrencies.

The ETF will be available on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker ETC (unhedged Canadian dollars) and ETC.U (unhedged US dollars).
