Chinese Ether Pool BeePool Shuts Down, Citing Beijing Updated Policy

One of the top five ether mining pools BeePool will close its services as China has intensified its fight against the cryptocurrency market. According to the announcement, the pool will suspend its services on Oct. 15, 2021. All the balance will be paid after the shutdown, a spokesperson for BeePool said.

BeePool is the fourth-largest ether mining pool in terms of hashrate, according to Mining Pool Stats. As of press time, the service generates a total of 63.22 TH/s and is inferior only to SparkPool, F2Pool and Ethermine.

The move comes shortly after Sparkpool also announced the closure of services on Sept. 30. Both of the pools are generating a total sum of 175.3 TH/s. The announcement follows China's additional pressure on all cryptocurrency-related firms, including mining providers and exchange platforms.
