Robinhood Hires New Former Grayscale Executive for Crypto Unit

Robinhood is expanding its staff for a cryptocurrency unit with a new executive from Grayscale Investments. The brokerage firm has appointed Benjamin Melnicki as a new chief compliance officer for Robinhood Crypto, the Wall Street Journal has learned.

Prior to Grayscale, Melnicki worked as regulatory counsel at Ripple Labs and Blockchain.com, for a year at each position. Before Blockchain.com, he worked at Bank of America as Director of Swap Dealer Compliance. The appointment comes after Robinhood announced plans for public test of cryptocurrency wallet feature.

Robinhood Rolls Out New Crypto Feature for Long-term Investors

The Menlo Park-headquartered brokerage said the public test for eligible users will begin in October this year with a full launch in early 2022. The access will be rolled out gradually as the company wants to get enough feedback on the new service.
