The firm said it plans to use the proceeds to continue to scale and support "major additional brand-driven sports, entertainment and music based products coming online and being developed on the Flow blockchain."

"We are excited to partner with our incredible investors to scale NBA Top Shot and launch our upcoming titles as well as unlock the potential of the open ecosystem building on Flow," said Roham Gharegozlou, CEO, Dapper Labs.

The investment round follows Dapper Labs' recent partnership with Google Cloud. As iHodl earlier reported, the Canadian blockchain startup signed a long-term partnership with Google. The IT giant, in turn, plans to act as a network operator to help Flow scale. The Flow blockchain network already has over 50 applications, including non-fungible token (NFT) collections like NBA Top Shot and CryptoKitties.
