Kraken's announcement comes just a week after the other cryptocurrency exchange — FTX — also announced a $450,000 commitment to support the development of the Bitcoin ecosystem. The exchange said that Brink Technology, a not-for-profit organization, will be responsible for creating developer fellowship and grant programs.

In the meantime, the developers of Geth, the most popular Ethereum client, have released an urgent fix for a serious bug in their code. According to Ethernodes.org, about 75% of Ethereum nodes currently use Geth. These should switch to the current version 1.10.8.
