The hacker of the Poly Network has returned the final tranche of stolen funds, the project's team wrote on Twitter.

Poly published a key which allowed the developers to regain access for the remaining $141 million of the $611 million stolen this month in one of the biggest decentralized finance (DeFi) heists. The hacker says the incident must be a serious lesson to the whole DeFi community.

Poly Network, a protocol of interoperability between multiple blockchains, suffered the massive hack on August 10. The protocol's team wrote that the project was attacked not only on the Ethereum network, but also Binance Smart Chain and Polygon.

Later, the Poly Network team offered the hacker the role of Chief Security Adviser and a $500,000 "bug bounty". Thus, the company wanted the hacker to continue contributing to the security of blockchain technology. The hacker explained shortly afterwards he carried out the attack just "for fun." He discovered a vulnerability in the Poly Network code and decided to report it to the project's developers.
