Hacker Steals $80M From Crypto Exchange Liquid

Liquid, a Japanese cryptocurrency exchange, has reported it has been attacked by a hacker, who has stolen $80 million in digital assets.

The platform has transferred its cryptos to cold storage. The Liquid team has written:

"We are currently investigating and will provide regular updates. In the meantime deposits and withdrawals will be suspended."

The exchange has not reported on the volumes of assets withdrawn by the attacker, however, it has published the addresses associated with him. According to the available data, these received 107.3 BTC, almost 11 million XRP and around 9 million TRX. The Ethereum wallet has received 14.957 ETH tokens and ERC-20 for a total of $24.8 million.

The total value of funds transferred to the hacker's addresses exceeds $80 million. The Liquid team added:

"We are currently tracking asset movements and are working with other platforms to freeze and recover funds."
