Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini has acquired Guesser, a predictions market platform for an undisclosed price. According to an announcement, the platform itself will be closed and the team will focus on a variety of projects in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space and accelerated adoption of Gemini dollar (GUSD).

"As more retail investors and financial institutions enter the DeFi ecosystem, they will seek a safe and reliable bridge between centralized finance and this new financial frontier," the exchange said.

Gemini Announces it Plans to Beat Binance

Guesser CEO Jose Garay and CTO Carlos Gonzalez will also join Gemini's team to work on GUSD integration proposals and building oracles to developing relationships with DeFi protocols. This is the latest acquisition made by Gemini. Prior to it, the New York-based cryptocurrency exchange acquired Nifty Gateway, Blockrize, and ShardX.
