AMC Entertainment Holdings, which operates the world's largest movie theater chain, plans to add the ability to buy tickets with Bitcoin, AMC CEO Adam Aron told CNBC.

Crypto payments will be available when shopping online and is expected to become available before the end of the year. The company expects to increase its sales during the pandemic with this measure.

In addition, AMC plans to add Apple Pay and Google Pay payments to all of its theaters.

AMC Entertainment owns about 1,000 movie theaters in the US and Europe. Despite the revenue growth, the company's second quarter losses amounted to $344 million. The company was only able to reopen all of its theaters at the end of June.

However, social media users caused a surge in the value of several stocks, including AMC.
