Greetings #crypto community. Letting you all know that I have resigned as CEO of @BinanceUS . Despite differences over strategic direction, I wish my former colleagues much success. Exciting new things to come!
— Brian Brooks (@BrianBrooksUS) August 6, 2021
Brooks became the CEO of the US-based cryptocurrency exchange in May this year. Shortly after Brooks announced his resignation, Binance CEO, Changpeng Zhao wrote on Twitter that the transition "will not impact Binance.US customers in any way."
Brooks's resignation comes after Binance.com came under scrutiny from several watchdogs over unauthorized activity of affiliated companies. As of press time, watchdogs of the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Poland, Malta, Italy, Cayman Islands and Singapore have issued warnings against the exchange and affiliated companies.
