Mastercard is launching a new Start Path global startup engagement program focused on supporting cryptocurrency and blockchain companies.

The company said in a press release that seven startups have already joined the program, including GK8, Domain Money, Mintable, SupraOracles, STACS, Taurus, and Uphold. The startups together with Mastercard want to expand innovation around cryptocurrency tech and simplify the turnover of digital assets.

As part of the program, Mastercard will provide startups with access to its latest tools and solutions to help companies scale their innovations.

In May, Mastercard found that 4 out of 10 users of the payment system intend to use cryptocurrencies within the next year. The survey, which was conducted between February 26 and March 10, involved 15,569 respondents from 18 countries in North America, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region.

According to the results, 67% of millennials have become interested in cryptos over the past year, while 77% intend to learn more about digital assets and almost as many expect to use them when they possess greater knowledge about them.
