London police have announced the largest seizure of cryptocurrencies in the UK (£180 million or $250 million).
It is believed to be one of the largest seizures in the world. The previous record was set by law enforcement officers in London at the end of June, when they seized £114 million.

The operation was carried out by the Economic Crime Command as part of an investigation into an international money laundering scheme. Deputy Assistant Commissioner Graham McNulty said:
"While cash still remains king in the criminal word, as digital platforms develop we’re increasingly seeing organized criminals using cryptocurrency to launder their dirty money. Whilst some years ago this was fairly unchartered territory, we now have highly trained officers and specialist units working hard in this space to remain one step ahead of those using it for illicit gain."
