Iran's First vice president Eshaq Jahangiri has ordered miners operating legally to suspend their activity.
Local publication Tasnim News Agency has reported that the vice president has said during a meeting with Energy Ministry officials that restrictions on electricity use will remain in place until early next month. In particular, he has said:
"We will ensure that the electricity will not be cut off in essential and important places. Licensed miners must also stop production altogether."

As a result, even miners who were operating in the country legally so far must stop their activities. Crypto mining was recognized as a legal industrial activity in the country in 2019, albeit only for miners who carry out their activity with the timely license.
However, there are a large number of miners mining cryptos illegally, which is causing constant power outages in the country. As a result, the authorities have been forced to take measures, prohibiting the activity even for those who operate legally.
