Coinbase to Launch Cryptocurrency App Store

Popular US cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has just announced it intends to launch an app store in the future.

In particular, the company plans to allow third-party developed apps to be included in this, similar to the popular Google Play and App Store, however, in its case, all apps will be focused on cryptos.

In the announcement, the platform's CEO Brian Armstrong said:

"Apple didn’t attempt to build every app for the iPhone, it empowered developers and gave mobile users an easy way to access new innovative apps. We need to do the same in crypto."

He has taken the opportunity to announce the exchange intends to continue its expansion by adding new assets as well as increasing the speed at which they are listed on the exchange by reducing the legal process from 70 to 12 questions.

Notably, Coinbase's expansion plans coincide with a time of crackdown by regulators, as the UK's FCA has recently banned Binance from offering its regulated services in the country.
