Huobi Bans Cryptocurrency Derivatives for China

Cryptocurrency exchange Huobi has listed residents from China and Hong Kong into its list of restricted regions for trading derivatives. According to an updated User Agreement, users from Hong Kong (China), China, and Taiwan are restricted from trading cryptocurrency derivates.

However, the limitation does not mean that clients from China cannot access the exchange and use spot trading. The new restrictions come after Huobi initiated scaling back its services in China due to the country's recent crackdown on the cryptocurrency mining market.

Huobi and Upbit Halt Trading of Some Cryptos in South Korea

The exchange already suspended its mining business and several cryptocurrency trading services to Chinese clients. A Huobi spokesperson said that the exchange decided to suspend the provision of services to focus "on expanding overseas business."
