Microsoft's Market Cap Surpasses $2T For the First Time

During the June 22 trading session, Microsoft Corporation shares rose to $265.8. As a result, Microsoft has become one of only two companies in the world with a capitalization of more than $2 trillion, Bloomberg reports.

In August last year, Apple became the only company in the world with a capitalization of more than $2 trillion. As of June 23, its capitalization stands at $2.24 trillion.

Back in December 2019, Saudi Aramco, a Saudi Arabian oil company, briefly surpassed this threshold, however, it fell below it shortly after.

Microsoft shares have experienced a 19% increase since the beginning of the year and investors expect long-term earnings growth driven by advances in machine learning and cloud computing.
