The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is ready to accept donations in cryptocurrency, Axios has learned. The NRCC will reportedly process the donations via BitPay, a bitcoin-focused payment provider.

However, the House will not hodl these cryptocurrencies, as all the donations will be immediately converted into US dollars. The donators can make individual donations of up to $10,000 per year. Rep. Tom Emmer (R-Minn.), the NRCC Chairman, says that the House is focused on pursuing "every avenue possible" to further its mission of stopping Nancy Pelosi’s socialist agenda. This is the first time party committee is ready to accept cryptocurrencies as a form of donation.

iHodl earlier reported that Democratic House members want to form a new group to address cryptocurrency-related concerns. The group, according to Rep. Maxine Waters, will focus on engaging with regulators and experts to do a "deep dive on this poorly understood and minimally regulated industry." Waters also added that the reason for forming the group is an exponential growth of cryptocurrencies.
