Canadian cryptocurrency mining company Hut 8 Mining Corp. has started trading on the US market NASDAQ under the ticker HUT.
The main underwriter has been Canaccord Genuity Corp. On June 15, Hut 8 announced it had acquired 23 million shares (common shares and warrants) at a price of 5 Canadian dollars (about $4.11). The supply volume amounted to 115 million Canadian dollars (approximately $94.43 million).

Hut 8 shares are currently trading on the NASDAQ at $4.29, with a market capitalization of $497.53 million. The company is also listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
Hut 8 has been mining Bitcoins since 2011. Sue Ennis, head of corporate development at Hut 8, has reported the company plans to start mining Ether by June 20. Hut 8 will become this way the first publicly traded cryptocurrency mining company in the US with a diversified portfolio.
Competitors Riot Blockchain and Marathon Patent Group, which are also listed on the NASDAQ, only mine Bitcoin.
