The French Competition Authority (FCA) has fined Google 220 million euros. According to the agency, Google has been sanctioned for abusing its dominant position in the market for advertising placed on websites and mobile applications.
According to the FCA, Google, to the detriment of its competitors, has granted privileges to its service Google Ad Manager, including its integrated ad server DFP (which gives website and app publishers the opportunity to sell advertising space), and the platform SSP AdX, where auctions are held for the sale of advertising space.

The FCA has highlighted newspapers were particularly affected by Google's actions, as their revenues have declined due to declining print subscriptions and reduced advertising revenues.
The FCA assures Google has not denied the claims and has reached a settlement with the competition authority, promising to improve Google Ad Manager's interaction with third-party ad servers and platforms to sell ad space, eliminating the benefits of Google's products.
