Crypto exchange bitFlyer USA, a subsidiary of Japanese cryptocurrency trading platform bitFlyer, has just announced it is offering its US customers the BTC/JPY trading pair, according to a press release shared with iHodl.

From now on, the US users of the platform will have access to the world's largest yen-denominated cryptocurrency market.

As a result, US traders will be able to access a regulated JPY market to buy and sell Bitcoin, and take advantage of its unique trading opportunities.

Notably, the exchange's JPY market is equal to or larger than the BTC/USD market on some of the industry's largest players, including Bitstamp, Kraken and Gemini.

Joel Edgerton, chief operating officer of bitFlyer USA, said:

"It’s another step forward to increase global adoption of Bitcoin. By opening up access to BTC/JPY markets for US residents, we enable a tighter connection between the two cryptocurrency markets. Bitcoin can now act as the glue between the two local financial systems — an exciting step on the path to wider adoption."
