Apple has published a new job vacancy, according to which, the Cupertino-based company is looking for a new business development manager focused on "alternative payments." The job posting claims the candidate should have 5+ years experience working in or with alternative payment providers, such as "digital wallets, BNPL, Fast Payments, cryptocurrency and etc."

"We are looking for a proven professional in global alternative and emerging payment solutions," the posting says.
However, it remains unknown whether Apple is working on a cryptocurrency-focused payment gateway for its ecosystem or not. In February this year, RBC Capital Markets, a global investment bank, issued a note to clients in which advised Apple to establish its own cryptocurrency exchange. RBC's analyst, Mitch Steves, says modernization of Apple Wallet into a cryptocurrency exchange would be a "clear multi-billion dollar opportunity for the firm."
Steves estimates Apple could profit over $40 billion in annual revenue with crypto support. He also believes Apple's decision to buy bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin) would significantly increase the amount of potential clients.
