US cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, which went public on the NASDAQ last April, may be interested in buying asset manager Osprey Funds, CoinDesk has reported.
According to two sources familiar with the negotiations, they are still informal but are being conducted at a high level.
However, neither Coinbase nor Osprey Funds have made any comments.

It is not surprising that Coinbase is looking for companies to invest in, as its recent public listing has brought it some big profits, so the exchange currently has liquidity to continue with its expansion plans.
The company has already bought other companies in the past, including prime broker Tagomi, infrastructure shop Bison Trails and data platform Skew.
