Warren Buffett Gets Rid of Almost All His Wells Fargo Shares

Berkshire Hathaway, the holding company owned by popular investor Warren Buffett, has just released information on the investments made during the first quarter of 2021. During the first three months of the year, Buffett has added only a new company to his portfolio: insurance broker Aon.

According to the US service Whale Wisdom, Berkshire Hathaway has acquired more than 4 million shares of Aon for $942.6 million.

At the same time, the investment firm has sold 98% (51.75 million shares valued at $1.57 billion) of the shares of bank holding company Wells Fargo. Buffett now owns 675,000 shares (valued at $26.37 million) of Wells Fargo.

Berkshire started selling Wells Fargo shares gradually in 2020. During the second quarter of last year, the company sold 26% of its stake, in the third quarter, another 46%.

Berkshire Hathaway has also sold 51% of its stake in Chevron.
