Peter Thiel's Palantir Considers Adding Bitcoin to Balance Sheet

Palantir, a public American software company that specializes in big data analytics, was considering adding bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin) to its balance sheet, MarketWatch reports, citing the company's earnings call for Q1, 2021.

According to Palantir Chief Financial Officer, David Glazer, the company now offers customers the option to pay in the cryptocurrency, and it is considering adding bitcoin to its balance sheet.

"It is definitely on the table from a treasury perspective as well as other investments as we look across our business and beyond," Glazer added.

Palantir's revenue in Q1, 2021 rose from $229 million up to $341 million. The company also added 11 new commercial customers in the latest quarter. Palantir's announcement comes after WeWork, a commercial real estate startup, added support fir cryptocurrency payments.

The startup entered into a partnership with BitPay and Coinbase. Moreover, the US-based exchange will be the first WeWork member to use cryptocurrency "to pay for its WeWork membership."
