The price of Litecoin (LTC) has surpassed $400 for the first time ever.
According to data provided by crypto exchange Bitstamp, the altcoin has reached $414, however, at press time the crypto is trading at $385,63 (+9.85%).
In particular, the price of the cryptocurrency has recorded a spectacular 215% increase so far this year, rising from $124.42 to $413.9.

It must be noted that Litecoin is not the only altcoin that is registering significant rises. In fact, its direct rivals, such as XRP, Ether, Cardano or Dogecoin, have risen even more.
The Litecoin dominance index, which measures the altcoin's importance relative to the rest of the market, has increased from 0.96% to 1.11%, which shows investors are increasingly interested in the asset.
