Ether Breaks Above $4,000 For The First Time

The price of Ether, the second largest cryptocurrency on the market by market capitalization, has surpassed the psychological barrier of $4,000 for the first time in its history, according to data provided by CoinMarketCap.

In particular, the crypto broke above $4,000 at 3:00 UTC just a week after doing the same with the $3,000 mark. At the moment it is trading at $4,145.3 (+5.46%).

As a result of this price rise, the asset's market capitalization is up to $480,575 billion.

It must be noted that Bitcoin has also had a good weekend, as the leading crypto has started the workweek very close to $59,000 after ending Friday trading around $56,000.

It has recently been known that Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, has become the youngest cryptocurrency billionaire in history, according to Forbes.

In addition, investment manager VanEck has filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) an application to launch an exchange-traded fund (ETF) focused on Ethereum.
